remedies
Here is
a remedy of mine that has been tried, tested and appreciated by
many over the years!
It will help colds, coughs, 'flu', dry or sore throats. You may
use it as a hot drink, or a soothing cold drink. I use it
sometimes as you would any other 'hot lemon cold remedy', or
keep some in a bottle cold beside me when I do a lot of
telephone work to ease my throat when it gets tickly and dry.
Try it and send me your feedback!
Cut 8 lemons, 3 or 4 oranges and 1 onion in half, and place in a
large pan with 2 cloves of garlic. Fill it with water and bring
it to the boil, you want to simmer this as gently as possible
for a minimum of 3 hours. A gallon, (8 pint pan), is ideal.
Strain the liquid carefully through a fine sieve and return to
the pan. Add 1 bottle of glycerine, (you can buy it at the
chemists), and 1 jar of clear honey. Top up the pan with water,
(this is concentrated so you wont weaken it), and bring back to
the boil for just a couple of minutes.
It is now ready for use, what you don't drink immediately, you
need to bottle or keep in a container in the fridge, and it will
keep for about a week.
